No author is able to bring so many variations in his or her work as the ordinary people do each day in their simple lives. In Bombay Sunshine I have tried to capture the triumph of the human will and optimism that Bombayites show in their every day lives.

Whether it is a poor vegetable seller or a housemaid they all work towards a common goal of a decent living and they brave all odds trying to get towards that goal.

Bombay with its vibrant cosmopolitan culture conflicts with the cultures from other parts of the country. The teenager Tara tries to unravel what growing up in Bombay is like. She has to work within norms, which no one seems to understand and she gets into lots of fun trouble.

Bombay Sunshine is not about crying over things that are not up to the mark but about rejoicing about the will to attempt at victory no matter what the odds are against you.
