Book Review:
Authors Comment
Stories of Amooma and Apoopan are special to all children with Parental roots in Kerala. Most of these stories have never been written down to the best of my knowledge and like a lot of other Traditional Indian things this is spread by word of mouth only.
There are a lot of variations of these stories and I have tried to write it the way I heard it. Ofcourse I cannot create the environment of a traditional Indian village with a grandmother in a chatta and Mundu (traditional Kerala dress no more in fashion) telling these stories but I hope it catches some of the flavour.
As a child, one is thrilled when your grandmother goes "Oruddutu oru amooman appopan unda irinu...(Hard to translate, but it means Long long time ago, there was this granddad and grandma)" and I hope the people who read these stories enjoy them too.
